Role Overview
The Patient Service Representative position encompasses a wide array of duties that fluctuate daily depending on clinical and administrative requirements of the practice. Primary responsibilities include assisting medical providers with clinical support and direct patient interaction, alongside managing administrative tasks to meet the needs of patients and staff efficiently.
Primary Duties
- Coordinate scheduling for cardiac diagnostics and invasive heart procedures with outpatient clinics.
- Work with outpatient and inpatient teams to confirm patient information, procedure orders, and necessary authorizations.
- Align provider appointments with procedural schedules to ensure effective use of allocated time blocks.
- Establish and maintain patient charts while overseeing office supply inventory.
- Manage front desk operations, delivering a courteous and helpful interface for patient arrivals and provider inquiries.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum education: High School diploma or equivalent.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and proven customer service experience.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
Preferred Experience
- Prior experience in a medical office environment is advantageous.
- Formal education or training relevant to healthcare support roles is desirable.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software including Meditech, Medent, and Epic is beneficial.
Work Location and Schedule
- Position is located onsite at 401 Cayuga Park Lane, Ithaca, NY.
- Working hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with flexibility as needed.
