Role Overview
This role entails greeting and assisting patients and visitors throughout the hospital and clinic premises, ensuring a welcoming environment. The administrator is tasked with scheduling appointments and managing patient registration processes with precision and efficiency. Handling patient inquiries via multiple communication channels professionally is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide and assist patients and visitors during their hospital and clinic visits.
- Accurately schedule appointments and manage patient registrations.
- Respond to patient questions over phone, email, and in person courteously and professionally.
- Ensure patient data and documentation are handled confidentially and meticulously.
- Assist in verifying insurance coverage and obtaining approvals.
- Collect payments and maintain detailed financial records per organizational protocols.
- Coordinate discharge paperwork and support daily administrative functions.
- Maintain exceptional customer service standards and patient confidentiality.
- Use hospital information systems for appointments and registration tasks.
- Work collaboratively with clinical and administrative teams to deliver seamless patient care experiences.
Qualifications and Experience
- Preferably a bachelor’s degree holder.
- At least two years in administrative, receptionist, customer service, or patient-facing roles.
- Prior experience within healthcare facilities such as hospitals or clinics is advantageous.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong customer service and interpersonal communication abilities.
- Effective both in verbal and written communication.
- Familiarity with medical terminology is beneficial.
- Experience managing appointment bookings and front-office duties.
- Basic knowledge of insurance and billing processes is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Detail-oriented and accurate in documentation.
- Capable of multitasking and functioning well in a fast-paced environment.
