Key Responsibilities
- Act as the main contact for patients, providers, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Review insurance benefits and confirm coverage details.
- Assist with prior authorization requests and appeals.
- Provide continued support to patients, including adherence coordination.
- Work in line with HIPAA rules and other regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications
- A high school diploma or an equivalent credential is required.
- You should have 3 to 5+ years of experience in medical billing, reimbursement, or insurance verification.
- A strong grasp of payer coverage and reimbursement processes, including both medical and pharmacy benefits, is essential.
- Prior experience in a contact center or patient support setting is needed.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills are required.
Preferred Background
- An associate degree or bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Experience in a Patient Support Services hub, especially for rare diseases, is advantageous.
- Background in healthcare or pharmaceutical customer service is a plus.
