Engagement Overview
This consultancy role is designed for a partnership-focused professional who will act as the main point of contact between the CGIAR AI Hub and the UAE agriculture and artificial intelligence ecosystem. The position is embedded at the MBZUAI Institute for Agriculture and AI in Al Ain and is centered on building collaboration across sovereign institutions, innovation bodies, and global development partners.
The CGIAR AI Hub is part of CGIAR’s Digital Transformation Accelerator and supports the conversion of more than 50 years of agricultural data and scientific knowledge into practical AI solutions for food, land, and water systems. It operates within Abu Dhabi’s AI Ecosystem for Global Agricultural Development, launched through the UAE-Gates Foundation partnership, and works with partners such as MBZUAI, ai71, Inception, and others across the UAE AI landscape.
Engagement Details

Role Purpose
The specialist will help strengthen the Hub’s position in the UAE ecosystem by developing strategic relationships and turning them into active partnerships. The role requires frequent coordination with the International Affairs Office at the UAE Presidential Court, as well as with key innovation partners in the country.
Key Responsibilities
The consultant will be responsible for relationship management, partnership growth, ecosystem awareness, and communications support. The role involves representing the Hub in external forums, helping align product roadmaps with partner priorities, and supporting high-level engagement preparation for leadership teams.
Additional Information
This is a highly outward-facing, relationship-led role that sits at the center of one of the most visible agriculture-and-AI collaborations globally. The consultant will work across sovereign institutions, innovation hubs, and development partners to help CGIAR science reach farmers more quickly through AI-enabled solutions. The position is well suited to someone with strong knowledge of the UAE institutional environment, diplomatic and interpersonal strengths, and a genuine commitment to food security and climate resilience.
