Role Overview
The Outpatient Registrar is tasked with welcoming patients, confirming their demographic, financial, and medical details, and registering or scheduling them for outpatient services.
Primary Duties
- Securing authorizations and consents, including advanced directives, to comply with hospital procedures.
- Managing patient financial transactions and verifying insurance information accurately.
- Ensuring patient identity is correctly documented to prevent errors.
- Overseeing patient flow within the outpatient center and correcting registration inaccuracies.
- Utilizing various hospital information systems for documentation and communication tasks.
- Interacting effectively with patients and their families, answering questions, and facilitating seamless outpatient experiences.
Qualifications and Skills
- At least one year of experience in customer service, ideally within a healthcare setting.
- A high school diploma or equivalent certification is required.
- Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish are highly preferred.
- Competency in Microsoft Office and strong data entry skills.
- Effective communication, the capacity to work well under pressure, discretion with confidential information, and the ability to follow detailed instructions.
- Flexibility, professionalism, and problem-solving capabilities are crucial.
