Clinical Tutor/Registrar in Endocrinology - Part-Time Fixed Term

Overview

The School of Medicine at University of Galway is seeking an experienced clinician for a fixed term, part-time position (0.8 Full Time Equivalent) over 6 months. This role combines clinical tutor responsibilities (0.2 FTE) with registrar duties (0.6 FTE) focused in endocrinology and diabetes.

Key Responsibilities

• Support clinical research and teaching within the Clinical Research Facility, collaborating with the Clinical Lead.
• Deliver diabetes clinics at Galway University Hospitals alongside junior doctors, covering diabetes in pregnancy, fertility, reproductive endocrinology, and pituitary medicine.

Experience and Clinical Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years clinical endocrinology experience post full medical registration, with or without 1 year as a registrar.
• Engagement in academic research geared toward higher degree qualification (e.g., MD).
• Mentorship by University of Galway academic faculty and senior diabetes/endocrinology consultants.

Terms and Conditions

• Six-month fixed term contract with 0.8 FTE workload.
• Appointment conditional upon valid work authorization and current registration with the Irish Medical Council.
• Salary between €70,276 and €102,619 per annum pro rata, based on experience and university remuneration policies.
• Garda vetting required.
