They are currently seeking an enthusiastic Paediatric Nurse to join the Paediatric Day Case Unit at Raigmore Hospital, part of the Highland Children's Unit, on a fixed term or secondment contract through April 2027.

Unit Overview

The Paediatric Day Case Unit is a six-bed facility dedicated to caring for children aged from newborn to 16 years who require day-case surgical procedures or medical investigations. Supported surgical specialties include general paediatric surgery, urology, ear-nose-throat (ENT), orthopaedics, dental, and plastic surgery. Operating hours are Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 6:00 pm.

The unit also provides outpatient services such as phlebotomy clinics, pre-assessment clinics, and allergy skin prick testing.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, family-centred care.
• Provide clinical assessments, prepare children for procedures, and oversee recovery care.
• Offer information and reassurance to children and their families throughout the day-case journey.

Candidate Requirements

• Possess a Degree or Diploma in Children's Nursing.
• Be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) in the Children's Nursing specialty.
• Commitment to delivering compassionate and respectful care that aligns with NHS values.
