Job description

Role overview

Lumino Seymour Smiles in Blenheim is looking for an Oral Health Therapist or Dental Hygienist to join a warm, community-minded clinic focused on clinical quality. The practice has recently been upgraded to a three-surgery setup and is backed by a team that works closely together and enjoys delivering excellent care.

What the role offers

  • Work up to five days a week, Monday through Friday, with the option to work part time or full time.
  • Enjoy a schedule that supports a healthier balance between work and life outside the clinic.
  • Join a welcoming team where collaboration and day-to-day support are part of the culture.
  • Take over an active, established patient list with loyal patients and regular internal referrals from in-house dentists.
  • Receive compensation that is competitive and adjusted to suit your experience, with either commission-based or hourly pay.
  • Access ongoing professional development to help strengthen and expand your clinical skills.
  • If you are relocating to Blenheim, relocation support is available, along with assistance for visa sponsorship through an accredited employer and access to immigration advisory support.

About Blenheim

Blenheim offers a relaxed lifestyle with the benefits of a well-connected regional centre. The area is known for vineyards, mountains, and coastal scenery, as well as family-friendly services, good schools, and a slower pace of life. It also provides plenty of outdoor activities such as hiking and kayaking, along with a close-knit community atmosphere.

What we are looking for

  • A recognised qualification as an Oral Health Therapist or Dental Hygienist.
  • Registration with the Dental Council of New Zealand, or eligibility to register.
  • A valid Annual Practising Certificate, or the ability to obtain one.
  • A team-oriented approach with a strong focus on patient care.
  • A genuine commitment to preventive, ethical, and high-quality dentistry.

About the employer

Lumino The Dentists is New Zealand’s largest dental network and part of Abano Healthcare, a leading dental support organisation in Australasia. Across 126 practices nationwide, clinicians are supported through strong clinical governance, administrative and operational assistance, career development pathways, and a commitment to sustainable, ethical dentistry.

Recruitment process

The hiring process is designed to be simple and conversational. It begins with an initial confidential discussion with a talent partner, followed by a meeting with the Regional Operations Manager and then a chance to connect with the Blenheim team, either in person or virtually. Final stages include background checks, which cover references and police vetting, followed by a verbal offer and onboarding with support throughout, including relocation or visa assistance where needed.
