Operations Manager - Catering & Hospitality

Overview

We seek a seasoned Operations Manager to oversee and enhance our catering and hospitality services based in Doha, Qatar. The role demands leadership to ensure operational excellence, drive profitability, maximize customer satisfaction, enable team performance, and stimulate business expansion across multiple sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee catering, hospitality, and food service operations across various locations and client venues.
• Formulate and implement strategies that enhance efficiency, productivity, profitability, and client satisfaction.
• Define and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for operational departments.
• Manage extensive catering contracts, corporate events, VIP functions, and specialized projects.
• Regularly conduct audits to verify adherence to company policies, client expectations, and regulatory requirements.
• Identify growth prospects and collaborate with commercial teams on proposals, tenders, and contract negotiation.
• Ensure optimal manpower planning, hiring, succession strategies, and workforce management.
• Coordinate the initiation and conclusion of catering projects and contractual agreements.
• Analyze financial outcomes to maximize revenues while controlling expenses.
• Monitor supplier performance, negotiate for quality products and competitive pricing.
• Maintain compliance with Qatar Municipality, Ministry of Public Health, Civil Defense, HACCP, ISO, and food safety regulations.
• Develop and execute business continuity and risk management plans.
• Prepare and deliver monthly operational and financial reports to senior leadership.
• Foster a culture emphasizing safety, accountability, teamwork, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Demonstrated leadership of large-scale catering/hospitality operations with 500+ personnel.
• Strong understanding of remote site, labor camp, and industrial catering operations.
• Experience managing multimillion-dollar catering contracts.
• Proficient in budgeting, forecasting, procurement, and contract oversight.
• Capability to handle multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
• Exceptional problem-solving, decision-making, and crisis management skills.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills to engage a broad range of stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree mandatory; MBA preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience within catering, hospitality, or food service industries.
• Familiarity with ERP software systems.
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder engagement, and communication proficiencies.
