Role overview

The Katherine Thomas School in Rockville, Maryland is hiring one-to-one Teaching Aides (paraeducators) for its middle school for the 2026/2027 academic year. The school supports learners from elementary through high school who live with language and learning disabilities, autism, intellectual disabilities, and other health-related conditions that can affect learning.

The position follows a Monday through Friday schedule from 8:30 AM to 4:15 PM. This employer is an equal opportunity employer.

The pay rate for this role is $19 to $24 per hour, depending on experience.

What you will do

  • Carry out the student’s behavior plan exactly as written and consistently reinforce it.
  • Apply ABA-based strategies when supporting the student.
  • Provide academic, emotional regulation, and behavior support, including during non-classroom breaks.
  • Record and track behavioral observations and incidents.
  • Support and supervise the student under the guidance of the Special Education Teacher.
  • Help maintain an organized classroom environment.
