Job Overview
The Outcomes Service in Rockville, MD is seeking a part-time Community Support Specialist I to serve as a Virtual CDS Facilitator. This role involves planning, coordinating, and delivering direct support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities through virtual platforms such as Zoom.
Responsibilities
- Organize and conduct virtual sessions that include skill-building exercises, creative projects, fitness activities, social games, and community engagement themes.
- Assist participants in developing skills related to daily living, communication, overall wellness, and self-advocacy.
- Encourage inclusive participation and tailor support to meet individual needs within group settings.
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of sessions and track participant progress.
- Effectively communicate program details and participant involvement with participants, their families, and team members.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure uniformity and high standards in service provision.
- Support Case Managers by contributing to the delivery of services to the individuals served.
- Drive participant progress toward targeted goals and professional behaviors using lesson plans and various teaching strategies.
- Complete all reports, case notes, and necessary documentation promptly.
Qualifications
- High school diploma is required.
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Strong skills in communication, organization, and facilitation.
- Ability to work independently in a virtual setting.
- Proficiency and comfort with video conferencing tools such as Zoom.
Employment Details
- This is a part-time opportunity requiring 18 hours per week.
- Work hours are from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.
- An additional two hours per week are allotted for planning.
- Hourly pay rate is $20.
