Role overview
Huntsville Hospital is seeking a pediatric Occupational Therapist to join a collaborative multidisciplinary team serving both outpatient and inpatient settings. This role supports children from birth through 18 years old and may expand into specialty areas such as NICU care as experience grows. The ideal candidate brings a strong patient-centered mindset, a caring approach toward children and families, excellent communication, solid organization, effective time management, and a commitment to evidence-based practice.
Key duties
- Perform initial evaluations, re-evaluations, and continuing hands-on therapy for pediatric patients from newborns through age 18.
- Manage a varied and fast-moving caseload.
- Work closely with other providers to coordinate patient care.
Education and licensing
Applicants must have completed an occupational therapy program accredited by AOTA. A current Alabama occupational therapy license is required. BCLS certification must be obtained within the orientation period.
Experience and skills
Prior pediatric experience is preferred. Candidates should be comfortable working in a high-paced environment and have the communication skills and flexibility needed to care for a broad patient population.
