Role Overview
The Nutrition Sales Specialist (NSS) is responsible for ethically promoting and scientifically detailing a premium Consumer Health product line within a designated area. This role operates within a newly formed team focused on fostering commercial growth by securing institutional adoption through multiple channels and expanding outpatient demand alongside retail presence.
Primary Duties and Strategic Objectives
- Secure approval and listing of products on hospital formularies and dietary menus by navigating therapeutic and dietary committee channels in priority hospitals.
- Ensure the products are available and visible in hospital preparation, clinical nutrition, and dispensing sections.
- Engage continuously with ward staff including nurses, doctors, and food service teams through briefings and updates related to clinical nutrition.
- Collaborate with nutritionists, dietitians, and clinical experts to integrate products into inpatient meal plans and recovery protocols.
- Drive quantifiable growth in inpatient volume across medical and surgical wards.
- Maintain and actively update a strategic list of doctors within the territory to generate prescriptions and recommendations.
- Educate patients and support retail teams to optimize the conversion of prescriptions into retail sales.
- Increase retail and drugstore inventory turnover by frequent visits and timely inventory management.
- Work pro-actively with pharmacists and retail staff to ensure knowledge of product benefits and consistent stock levels.
Performance Metrics
- Achievement of hospital formulary and dietary inclusion targets at designated hospitals.
- Volume of hospital and dietary orders processed.
- Retail and drugstore product turnover rates.
