Job description
Overview
University of Utah Health Research in Salt Lake City, UT, is seeking a Nutrition and Health Education Specialist to provide clinical education and training to physicians, nursing staff, students, and other healthcare professionals. This role involves selecting or developing educational materials and effective delivery methods for nutrition-related programs. Candidates should have strong expertise in nutrition and be capable of serving as a liaison between the organization and its clients. The position requires a bachelor's degree and may prefer advanced degrees or additional certifications. The role demands moderate proficiency and skill within the discipline and involves working under moderate supervision with some independent decision-making.
Work Schedule and Location
This full-time position operates Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, on campus at the University in Salt Lake City, UT. The standard workweek consists of 30 hours.
Responsibilities
- Conduct individualized nutrition assessments, counseling, and education aimed at managing health conditions for university employees, students, and community members.
- Deliver and assist with the development of lifestyle change programs.
- Provide mentorship, education, and guidance to graduate students completing assistantships, capstones, and internships in nutrition and dietetics.
Qualifications
- Registered Dietitian in the state of Utah is required.
- A bachelor's degree (or equivalent)—4 years of relevant experience—or a master’s degree plus 2 years of related work is needed.
- Equivalency option: one year of higher education can substitute for one year of directly related work experience.

Compensation
The salary range for this role is between $46,503 and $57,875 annually.
