Role Overview

The Nursing In-Charge will lead the nursing team, ensuring high-quality patient care is consistently maintained. This position requires both clinical expertise and strong administrative leadership to oversee daily nursing functions, enforce hospital policies, and assure compliance with clinical standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise nursing personnel, prepare duty schedules, and facilitate efficient shift handovers.
  • Ensure all patient care activities adhere to rigorous safety, hygiene, and clinical protocols.
  • Collaborate effectively with medical doctors and other hospital departments to optimize patient management processes.
  • Oversee the availability and proper use of nursing supplies, linens, and medical equipment.
  • Implement and monitor infection control procedures, biomedical waste disposal, and standard operating procedures of the hospital.
  • Support hospital audits and inspections such as NABH and maintain comprehensive nursing records.
  • Provide mentorship and training support to junior nurses, ensuring continuous professional development and regular performance evaluation.
  • Handle and resolve patient grievances related to nursing care or escalate them appropriately.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from a recognized institution with valid registration from the State Nursing Council.
  • Professional experience between 8 to 12 years in hospital nursing, including a minimum of 12 years in a supervisory or leadership role.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong leadership abilities and capability to coordinate a nursing team efficiently.
  • Extensive clinical knowledge with excellent patient care skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with staff and patients.
  • Familiarity with hospital SOPs and quality standards, with preference for NABH accreditation knowledge.
