Job description

About the Role

This is a proactive new-business sales position focused on winning first-time customers and expanding revenue across the Middle East. You will operate with a high degree of independence, build your own approach to success, and target opportunities in the commodity market data space. The role suits a self-driven sales professional who enjoys opening doors, creating demand, and working in a fast-changing industry.

You will be part of a collaborative team supporting a business with more than 50 years of history. The role reports to the VP Sales, Middle East & Africa and partners with commercial, product, analyst, marketing, and business development teams to support growth across the region.

What You Will Do

  • Focus on acquiring new logos and generating fresh revenue from Argus services across the Middle East.
  • Research and pursue net-new organisations across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait, Iraq, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, and Palestine.
  • Create and run territory plans to uncover opportunities across different industries.
  • Build a healthy pipeline of qualified prospects to support ambitious growth goals.
  • Use phone, email, LinkedIn, networking, referrals, and cold introductions to drive outbound engagement.
  • Connect with stakeholders at all levels, including operational teams and senior executives.
  • Develop relationships inside target accounts to generate new buying opportunities.
  • Identify buyers, influencers, and decision-makers, then match Argus solutions to their business needs.
  • Move deals through the full sales process, from first contact through qualification, proposal, negotiation, and contract close.
  • Keep CRM records, forecasts, and pipeline updates accurate and current.
  • Represent the company at conferences, client meetings, and networking events across the region.
  • Share market knowledge and competitor insights to help shape commercial and product strategy.
  • Work with marketing on campaigns, events, and lead-generation activity aimed at new customer acquisition.

Skills and Experience

  • You should bring a strong hunter mindset and be comfortable with cold outreach, prospecting, and handling rejection.
  • You need the ability to create opportunities through outbound activity across several stakeholder layers.
  • Territory planning, account prioritisation, and pipeline discipline are important.
  • The role requires comfort with building demand from scratch where no existing relationship exists.
  • Consultative selling and value-led discovery are key.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills are essential.
  • You should be resilient, self-motivated, and commercially curious.
  • You must be able to work independently while also collaborating across teams.
  • Confidence with senior decision-makers in large organisations is important.

Experience and Qualifications

  • 2 to 5 years of success in new business, business development, or B2B sales.
  • A proven history of creating and closing opportunities through proactive prospecting and cold outreach.
  • Experience handling multiple opportunities while maintaining a structured sales process.
  • Evidence of meeting revenue and pipeline-generation targets.
  • Experience in subscription services, Data-as-a-Service, market intelligence, information services, sponsorship sales, event sales, recruitment, talent solutions, commodity trading, or adjacent/competitor sectors is preferred.
  • Fluent English is required.
  • Arabic language ability is strongly preferred.

Travel and Scope

  • You must be willing to travel extensively throughout the Middle East.
  • Approximately 70% of the role involves travel across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait, Iraq, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, and Palestine.
  • You will own new-logo acquisition across the assigned Middle East territory.
  • You will be accountable for top-of-funnel activity, opportunity qualification, pipeline creation, and new-business conversion.
  • You will be responsible for opening new buying centres and building relationships inside target organisations.
  • You will also contribute customer feedback, market insight, and competitive intelligence to sales and marketing teams.
  • Accurate CRM hygiene, forecasting, and activity reporting are expected.

Benefits

  • Opportunity to join a fast-growing, award-winning global company.
  • Competitive pay with commission, based on your education, experience, and skills.
  • Hybrid working model with work-from-home options.
  • Healthcare insurance in the UAE.
  • 22 days of annual leave plus public holidays.
  • A broad benefits package including medical cover for GP and specialist care, dental cover, and hospitalisation.
  • Ongoing training, mentoring, and development support.
  • Employee welfare support and an Employee Assistance Programme.
