National Sales Manager

About the Role

Chery South Africa is seeking an accomplished National Sales Manager to spearhead and expand sales efforts across South Africa and surrounding countries. This key leadership position is charged with crafting and executing the national sales plan, managing dealer relationships, and ensuring sales targets and profitability are met consistently. The role directs regional sales teams and works closely with dealers to uphold brand integrity and achieve long-term company objectives.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Design and implement a strategic national sales plan to meet annual sales goals, boost market share, and enhance profitability.
• Oversee the distribution and placement of products throughout the sales network geographically.
• Fill critical sales points and ensure dealer succession strategies are established.
• Support dealer networks to meet set sales and profit targets.
• Develop individual business plans with dealers, conduct regular evaluations, and maintain thorough documentation.
• Formulate policies pertaining to dealer operations and development spending aligned with budgets and strategy.
• Maintain and manage dealer contracts, ensuring they comply with company standards.
• Supervise branding implementation at dealer venues according to budget and brand guidelines.
• Manage the National Dealer Council as a formal communication platform between company and dealers.
• Perform regular performance analyses and monthly dealer business reviews.
• Analyze sales data, competitor actions, and market trends to adjust strategies accordingly.
• Provide leadership with timely sales reports, market insights, and strategic advice.
• Lead and inspire regional sales managers and support teams to achieve high performance.
• Implement staff training initiatives to improve product knowledge, selling skills, and customer service quality.
• Host focus groups and forums to align goals and tackle challenges effectively.
• Collaborate with marketing, after-sales, and other departments to maximize customer satisfaction and retention.
• Drive programs that enhance customer experience, encourage repeat business, and build brand equity.
• Manage the national sales budget, ensuring optimal resource allocation across marketing and incentives.
• Monitor actual spending versus budget for both company operations and dealer activities.
• Ensure full compliance with industry regulations, ethical standards, and corporate policies.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by senior management.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Significant leadership experience in sales within the automotive industry, especially with dealer network management.
• Proven success in meeting sales targets and growing business on a national scale.
• Strong expertise in sales strategy, budgetary control, and market evaluation.
• Experience engaging with South African and neighboring markets is beneficial.
• A tertiary degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related discipline is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and readiness to travel extensively.

Additional Information
