Role Overview

The National Pharmacy Key Account Manager is entrusted with overseeing and fostering sales and relationship-building initiatives within the designated pharmacy product portfolio. This role focuses on enhancing brand presence, meeting revenue and sales targets, and maximizing profitability in the assigned territory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and nurture strong partnerships with stakeholders across pharmacy banner groups and dominant chain accounts.
  • Devise and execute strategic plans for accounts to accomplish sales goals and broader business objectives.
  • Coordinate with internal teams across functions to ensure unified execution of account strategies.
  • Analyze market trends and competitors to spot potential growth avenues.
  • Report account status, insights, and market trends regularly to senior leadership.
  • Lead marketing campaigns and promotional efforts to boost product visibility and sales.
  • Negotiate pricing and contractual terms aimed at maximizing both profit and market share.
  • Perform routine business reviews with key clients to evaluate performance and uncover improvement opportunities.
  • Remain informed about industry advancements and regulatory developments affecting business strategy.
  • Formulate a strategic territory plan inclusive of key account management, with ongoing reviews alongside management.
  • Efficiently plan customer engagements considering product potential and strategic priorities.
  • Develop relationships with medical and scientific Key Opinion Leaders, especially procurement pharmacists, aligning with company strategy.
  • Represent the organization at pharmacy education events, medical meetings, and scientific conferences.
  • Fulfill targets as outlined by key performance indicators and maintain fiscal discipline within set budget limits.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of company offerings, competitor products, and market dynamics.
  • Attend industry conferences to stay updated on therapeutic area knowledge.
  • Understand challenges faced by prescribers and users of products.
  • Execute responsibilities in compliance with GDP regulations and company quality standards.
  • Promote a quality-first mindset and support safe and healthy work environments.
  • Stay abreast of regulations, legal requirements, and ethical standards impacting company activities.

Candidate Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related discipline.
  • At least five years of pharmaceutical sales experience, with emphasis on OTC products, pharmacy banner groups, and key chain accounts.
  • Demonstrated history of surpassing sales objectives and driving business growth.
  • Sound knowledge of pharmaceutical industry processes and regulatory frameworks.
  • Superior communication, negotiation, and presentation capabilities.
  • Capacity to operate effectively both autonomously and collaboratively.
  • Robust analytical and problem-solving proficiencies.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as necessary.
