Overview

This role is offered by a partner company seeking a National Director of Experience based in the United States. This leadership position involves managing large group travel experiences by leveraging expertise in hospitality, vendor management, and cultivating partnerships to create smooth and memorable customer journeys. The position is remote and integral to expanding a dynamic travel-focused organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and cultivate partnerships with hotels, vacation rentals, cabins, venues, and other service providers in the hospitality sector.
  • Lead negotiations on vendor contracts, including securing net rate agreements and forging long-term strategic alliances.
  • Foster and maintain strong client and vendor relationships to ensure high-quality service and satisfaction.
  • Maintain active communication with customers throughout the planning stages to deliver customized solutions aligning with their needs.
  • Oversee proposals, contracts, invoices, and related documentation by conducting thorough reviews and approvals.
  • Manage ongoing vendor partnerships to guarantee reliability, service standards, and competitive offerings.
  • Facilitate the expansion of group travel initiatives by streamlining processes and enhancing customer experiences.
  • Utilize industry expertise and market insights to identify new partnership opportunities and reinforce existing ones.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years’ professional experience within event planning, hospitality management, travel operations, or related fields.
  • Proficient knowledge of hospitality revenue management and supplier relationship oversight.
  • Track record of successfully negotiating hospitality contracts, including net rate agreements and sustaining long-term partnerships.
  • Experience managing multiple group contracts monthly and overseeing hotel, venue, and vendor relations.
  • Familiarity with travel wholesaler platforms such as Hotel Beds or equivalents.
  • Strong skills in negotiation, effective communication, and relationship development.
  • Ability to solve problems creatively while managing shifting priorities efficiently.
  • Good command of computer and internet technologies to work productively in a remote setting.
  • Possession of Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) certification is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Must be a recognized citizen or permanent resident of the United States or Canada.
