Role Overview
The National Account Manager position is a full-time, on-site role located in Des Moines, IA. The individual will manage and expand key retail, grocery, and foodservice accounts throughout the United States. Responsibilities encompass overseeing the complete account lifecycle — from identifying new prospects and presenting product lines to negotiating contracts and pricing, as well as implementing promotional strategies. Daily tasks include cultivating strong buyer relationships, monitoring sales data, analyzing category trends, and uncovering opportunities for product expansion and placement.
This role collaborates closely with internal departments such as operations, marketing, and finance to ensure accurate sales forecasting, timely product fulfillment, and impactful marketing campaigns. The manager will conduct regular business reviews with clients, address service-related concerns, and represent Lola’s Fine Foods at customer meetings and trade events.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in national or key account management, ideally within the consumer packaged goods (CPG), food, beverage, or related sectors.
- Strong expertise in developing sales strategies, negotiating contracts and pricing, and executing promotional plans to foster growth.
- Ability to interpret sales metrics, category performance, and market trends to generate actionable account strategies.
- Exceptional skills in building relationships, communicating, and presenting to buyers, distributors, and cross-functional teams.
- Excellent organizational skills including pipeline oversight, sales forecasting, and territory management.
- Adaptability to fast-moving, entrepreneurial environments with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
- Proficiency in CRM platforms, spreadsheet analysis, and standard office software; familiarity with retail or distributor portals is advantageous.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related discipline, or equivalent educational and professional experience.
- Willingness to work on-site in Des Moines, IA, and to travel domestically for account meetings and industry events.
