About The Position
Golden State Warriors is in search of a skilled, diligent, imaginative, and meticulous Music Coordinator to become part of their team. This position plays a vital role in the delivery and presentation of home games for both the Warriors and Valkyries. The incumbent will be responsible for handling tasks such as recording, downloading, mixing, curating, editing, and playing sound effects and music throughout the games. Expertise with sensitive audio equipment is essential to achieve optimal acoustic results that suit the venue and game tempo. A solid understanding of various audio recording and editing methods is expected.
The Music Coordinator must ensure the audio content's quality, rhythm, tone, and atmosphere meet the high standards established by the Golden State brand and the game experience team. Creativity and a strong enthusiasm for developing engaging, immersive live experiences are key attributes. This role reports directly to the Manager, Game Presentation and offers an excellent opportunity to share knowledge, refine skills, and grow within an expanding sports and entertainment organization that values initiative, creativity, positivity, and goal-oriented work.
This is a part-time role based in San Francisco, CA.
Key Responsibilities
- Create a lively environment to invigorate the audience and inspire players
- Operate music, backing tracks, special effects, and sound cues during live home games of the Valkyries and Warriors, including primetime segments, halftime, and dance team performances
- Develop and manage libraries of sounds and music
- Record, mix, and edit audio tracks including instruments and vocals
- Follow the directions and guidelines from directors and producers carefully
- Perform sound equipment tests prior to games and broadcasts
- Enhance sound quality and add effects to recordings
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical audio issues during events
- Minimize unwanted noise and maintain appropriate volume and sound quality levels
- Work collaboratively with producers, DJs, performers, stage managers, and other audio technicians to maximize audience experience and event impact
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in audio or sound engineering, or equivalent practical experience is advantageous
- Between 5 to 7 years of experience in sound engineering is preferred
- Broad knowledge of musical genres, trends, and experience in programming music
- Proficient use of sound equipment such as audio mixing consoles, 360 Systems Instant Replay, Ableton Live, and Sound Director software
- Strong expertise in sound engineering techniques, including equalization, and familiarity with sound editing and recording tools like mixing consoles
- Experience with recording software and hardware such as Pro Tools and Adobe Audition
- Ability to interpret and follow the Run of Show and adjust audio in real time during games
- Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Exceptional hearing acuity and manual dexterity
Compensation
The job pays $25.00 per hour.
