Job description

About the Role

The Golden State Community Foundation is hiring a Manager to help run the Foundation’s daily operations and support its community impact, fundraising, and philanthropy work. This position is responsible for contributing across a wide range of programs and campaigns so that they are planned carefully, executed smoothly, and reviewed effectively to improve community outcomes, donor engagement, and overall impact.

You will work across program delivery, fundraising support, project coordination, stakeholder communication, partnership activation, donor relations, and administrative tasks. The role partners closely with internal teams and community partners to advance the Foundation’s strategic goals through strong organization, execution, and relationship management. This position reports to the Director of Development and Operations.

This is a full-time onsite role in San Francisco, CA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily execution of Foundation programs, educational efforts, and community impact initiatives.
  • Coordinate timelines, action items, application workflows, participant communications, budgets, and reporting for assigned programs.
  • Help plan and deliver community impact projects that align with the Foundation’s strategic priorities.
  • Support the organization of fundraising campaigns, signature events, volunteer activities, and community engagement programs.
  • Assist with donor stewardship, sponsorship delivery, and partner engagement to strengthen philanthropic relationships.
  • Manage event logistics, vendor coordination, attendee and donor communication, and on-site event execution.
  • Monitor program and fundraising data, prepare impact summaries, and contribute to post-event reviews and improvements.
  • Look for ways to improve program delivery, participant experience, and fundraising performance.
  • Support outreach and marketing efforts that build awareness of Foundation programs, events, and giving opportunities.
  • Work with internal departments and external partners to ensure initiatives are delivered successfully and goals are met.
  • Handle additional duties as needed.

Experience and Skills Needed

  • A bachelor’s degree, or equivalent professional experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in nonprofit management, program management, community engagement, project management, philanthropy, or a similar area.
  • Comfort using Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite.
  • Proven ability to manage several projects and priorities at the same time.
  • Strong skills in relationship building and stakeholder coordination.
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication.
  • Solid organization, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience creating reports, presentations, and project documentation.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and functions.
  • Self-driven, highly motivated, detail-oriented, and dependable with follow-through.

Time Commitment

The role requires flexibility to work longer hours, including evenings and weekends, for Warriors and Valkyries home games and Foundation-related events.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Pay range of $38.00 to $40.00 per hour, plus bonus.
