Molecular Biology Specialist (Remote)

Position Summary

Seeking a Molecular Biology Specialist to join on a contract basis, performing remote work from any location within India. This role involves planning and performing advanced molecular biology experiments, analyzing resulting data, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to drive research and development efforts in biotechnology.

Key Duties

• Create and conduct molecular biology assays such as PCR, cloning, and nucleic acid extractions (DNA and RNA).
• Interpret experimental results utilizing bioinformatics platforms and statistical techniques.
• Accurately document experimental workflows and outcomes and prepare presentations to support research goals.
• Work closely with scientists and engineers to integrate molecular biology methods into larger project frameworks.
• Enhance laboratory protocols to boost operational efficiency and ensure consistent reproducibility.

Required Expertise

• Competence in PCR, gel electrophoresis, and purification of nucleic acids.
• Knowledge of Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) data analysis is advantageous.
• Experienced in molecular cloning methods including Gibson Assembly and restriction enzyme digestion.
• Proficient with bioinformatics applications such as BLAST, Primer-BLAST, and sequence alignment tools.
• Strong problem-solving skills to address and rectify experimental challenges.
