Job description
Role Summary
This contract-based position seeks a Molecular Biology Specialist to remotely support research efforts by planning and performing molecular biology experiments, analyzing resulting data, and working closely with interdisciplinary teams. The role prioritizes precision, problem-solving, and collaborative contributions to advance gene therapy and genetic engineering projects.
Key Duties
- Plan and conduct experiments such as PCR, cloning procedures, and extraction of DNA/RNA.
- Interpret and analyze data through bioinformatics and statistical approaches.
- Maintain meticulous documentation and clearly communicate outcomes to research stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively with scientists and engineers to embed molecular biology techniques into larger initiatives.
- Refine protocols continuously for enhanced robustness and laboratory productivity.
Required Expertise
- Skilled in PCR, gel electrophoresis, and nucleic acid purification methods.
- Preferred experience with next-generation sequencing data interpretation.
- Strong understanding of molecular cloning, including Gibson Assembly and enzymatic restriction digestion.
- Competence with bioinformatics software such as BLAST, Primer-BLAST, and tools used for sequence alignment.
- Capability to identify and resolve experimental challenges effectively.
