Job Purpose
This role is accountable for executing the business plan aligned with the company's strategic vision for the product range. Utilizing the merchandising team’s expertise, this position leads and coaches the team to achieve success across Southeast Asia & Oceania (SEAO).
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the critical path process for the assigned business area to develop and implement the global brand assortment.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including Design, Product Development, Planning, Global Sourcing, Visual Merchandising, Marketing, and Digital to influence decisions that uphold the brand’s strategic direction.
- Manage and inspire the merchandising team by providing coaching, motivation, and developmental support.
- Create and deliver the range plan encompassing pricing, country of origin, and competitive strategy in conjunction with merchandising support staff, securing approval from the Director of Merchandising.
- Present brand buy strategies to regional teams during market openings.
- Work with Service and Productivity teams to design and implement comprehensive product knowledge training for the category.
- Establish strong relationships with regional merchandising teams to gather product feedback and conduct market analysis.
- Examine weekly and monthly sales reports, recommending necessary actions.
- Oversee retail pricing strategy to meet margin objectives and competitive positioning.
- Manage the development and compliance of the range plan aligned with development targets, as well as monitor commercial sample ordering processes and budgets.
Candidate Profile
- A minimum of 8 years’ experience in merchandising within the luxury fashion sector, with at least 3 years in managerial roles.
- Proven ability to collaborate with retail teams to establish in-season trading strategies that enhance sales performance, optimize sell-through, and maximize retail potential.
- Strong cross-functional teamwork capabilities and the ability to foster effective partnerships.
- Highly developed commercial acumen and strategic thinking.
- Excellent analytical mindset with forecasting proficiency.
- Demonstrated leadership capacity and effective people management skills.
