Job description
Overview
Michael Kors seeks a Merchandising Coordinator to support the buying team in overseeing a growing domestic and global business. Ideal candidates should possess robust analytical abilities, innovative problem-solving skills, and be able to excel in a startup-like environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce weekly sales and business performance reports to analyze trends, optimize opportunities, and reduce risks to sustain growth and profitability of the Outlet Footwear and Apparel business.
- Manage assortment documentation, pricing and conversion spreadsheets, process markdowns, and handle order reconciliations and sample tracking.
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments to convey monthly floor set plans, markdowns, promotional activities, and return to vendor procedures.
- Coordinate with planning and allocation teams to implement merchandising tactics tailored to each store location, ensuring maximum assortment efficiency.
- Build and utilize relationships across teams including Digital, Marketing, Visual Merchandising, and Global Merchandising to enhance business prospects.
- Liaise with vendors concerning order submissions and product upkeep.
- Ensure effective distribution of product knowledge and buying information to retail stores.
- Assist in conducting sales performance analysis to identify opportunities for product assortment refinement; actively engage in market attendance and entry of market orders.
- Support Senior and Associate Buyers during the launch of new men's retail stores.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree minimum required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer skills.
- Strong analytical and creative problem-solving capabilities.
- Availability to work onsite at the New York City office at least three days per week.
