Job description

Position Summary

The Mental Health Technician functions under the direct guidance of a Registered Nurse, acting as the coordinator of the patient milieu. The role involves caring for patients throughout program hours, overseeing designated areas, and managing the daily organization of patient care responsibilities while respecting professional boundaries. It is also essential to maintain a clean, safe, and calm environment.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time role requiring 36 hours per week, scheduled over 3 shifts each week including alternating weekends during night hours.

Compensation Range

The salary for this position ranges from $18.85 to $28.30 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.

Qualifications

  • Minimum education: High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Previous practical experience: Preferably two or more years in a related mental health setting.
  • Proven ability to apply Trauma-Informed care philosophy and effectively manage crisis situations with composure.
  • Familiarity in handling sensitive and confidential patient data is required.
  • Must hold CPR certification and Crisis Prevention Institute Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI) certification.
  • A CNA license is a preferred qualification.
