About Arca
Arca is a wealth management firm innovatively created with AI at its core. Unlike traditional advisory services based on infrequent check-ins and static plans, Arca aims to provide personalized, proactive financial advice resembling a dedicated team of specialists for each client. Their AI platform supports advisors by automating routine tasks and maintaining a dynamic understanding of client needs, adapting to life changes and market shifts before clients even ask.
Launched by acquiring firms managing over $1 billion in assets, Arca combines real advisory experience with advanced technology to revolutionize wealth management for a market estimated at $20 trillion.
The Team
A compact team of 12 based in New York City, predominantly engineers from leading startups, operates fully onsite in the Flatiron district with a culture that includes shared meals, social events, and team sports.
Role Overview
The Member of Corporate Development focused on M&A plays a critical role in driving Arca's expansion by sourcing and executing acquisitions of Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) firms typically managing $500 million to over $2 billion in assets. Key responsibilities include developing long-term relationships with firm founders, managing the entire deal process from identification to closure, performing financial analysis, and coordinating cross-functional due diligence efforts. The role offers substantial autonomy, direct engagement with senior leadership, and influence on the company's growth strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and nurture proprietary relationships with RIA founders and principals to build a pipeline of acquisition targets.
- Manage deals comprehensively, including outreach, qualification, valuation, due diligence, deal structuring, and closing.
- Create financial models and valuations that inform acquisition decisions and terms.
- Coordinate efforts across finance, legal, compliance, and operations to ensure successful deal execution.
- Refine and improve the acquisition processes to support multiple deals annually as the company scales.
Candidate Profile
- At least two years of direct experience in private equity or corporate development including sourcing and evaluating acquisition candidates.
- Strong interpersonal skills to develop trust-based long-term relationships with founders, emphasizing support over transaction focus.
- Robust financial modeling and valuation abilities coupled with sharp commercial insight.
- Highly self-motivated, with an ownership mindset, capable of working independently in a startup environment and contributing to process creation.
- A genuine enthusiasm for AI-driven innovation in wealth management, with familiarity in the RIA or wealth management sectors being advantageous but not necessary.
- Collaborative, straightforward, low-ego personality that thrives in a small, in-person team environment.
Why Join Now
- Opportunity to join early in Arca's growth phase post-Stealth with significant equity potential and the chance to shape the company's future.
- Engage in defining both advisor and consumer-facing products in a rapidly scaling operation.
- Participate in expanding a proven but still emerging platform with tangible client assets already onboarded.
Compensation
Salary range: $150,000 to $200,000 annually.
