Job description
About Arca
Arca is revolutionizing wealth management by integrating AI into its core operations. Unlike traditional financial advisory services that are reactive and impersonal, Arca offers a proactive, continuously evolving platform that deeply understands each client’s financial life. This ensures advisors can provide highly personalized and empathetic service that anticipates client needs and adapts to life changes before being asked. This innovative approach serves clients beyond the ultra-wealthy, aiming to transform a $20 trillion market.
Starting from acquiring firms with over $1 billion in assets under management, Arca builds on real client data and advisor experience to grow organically and sustainably.
The company is currently at Series A funding stage, having raised $64 million, and is supported by leading investors including General Catalyst, Index Ventures, and Venrock. The board and advisors include influential figures such as the former CEO of Vanguard and the former CFO of Schwab.
Based in NYC's Flatiron district, the team is intentionally small and engineering-heavy, fostering strong in-office collaboration five days a week with shared meals, coffee breaks, and social activities.
Role Overview
The Chief of Staff to the CEO will act as a pivotal driver within the company, spearheading critical initiatives that impact the organization's growth and efficiency. This role involves managing top company priorities, tackling functions that have yet to be defined or assigned, and optimizing internal processes to elevate overall productivity. Success here means making the small team operate with the efficiency and impact of a much larger organization by systematizing operations and solving ambiguous challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and execute the business's most urgent priorities, such as funding rounds, crucial hires, partnerships, and overcoming stalled projects by managing all related elements end-to-end.
- Identify and develop emerging functions and growth opportunities that currently lack dedicated resources, creating sustainable systems or teams to manage them independently in the future.
- Enhance organizational leverage by identifying repetitive, manual tasks across teams and designing improved solutions and workflows, empowering colleagues to adopt these processes autonomously.
Ideal Candidate Traits
- Proactive operator with a strong bias for taking ownership and resolving poorly defined problems efficiently and thoroughly.
- Enthusiast of AI technologies, regularly leveraging AI to enhance productivity; comfortable creating solutions independently, including coding and deploying software improvements if necessary.
- High standards due to the critical nature of clients' financial well-being in a regulated industry; meticulous and careful without sacrificing speed.
- Exceptional multitasker who can manage multiple unrelated projects simultaneously, prioritizing effectively for optimal impact.
- Personable and collaborative team member who thrives in a close-knit, direct, low-ego working environment, and can give constructive feedback tactfully.
Why Join Now
- The company has recently exited stealth mode and is scaling rapidly with high leverage for early employees shaping its future trajectory and culture.
- The advisor-centric product is evolving based on real-world feedback from multiple acquisitions, setting foundational standards for growth.
- The consumer product is a new space with no precedents, offering the opportunity to define its entire experience from scratch.
- The platform is live and proven, with a focus now on scaling operational systems and reliability as the business expands.
Additional Information
This full-time, in-office position is based in New York City at the Flatiron location, with a highly collaborative team environment including shared meals and social activities during the workweek.
Compensation for this role ranges from $180,000 to $230,000 annually.
