About the Company

Our client is a rapidly expanding global biopharmaceutical firm specializing in innovative and specialty care focusing on oncology, neurosciences, and rare diseases. Their mission is to significantly enhance patient health and quality of life by delivering effective therapies addressing unmet medical needs with cutting-edge medicines.

Role Overview

We are seeking an Interim Medical Science Liaison for a field-based maternity leave cover, supporting 12 centers nationwide. This position focuses on rare diseases and liver-related therapy areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and cultivate relationships with national and regional medical and scientific key opinion leaders aligning with Medical Affairs and corporate strategies.
  • Engage in compliant scientific exchanges and educational activities concerning current and emerging therapies through advisory boards, individual meetings, and conferences.
  • Maintain and deepen scientific, clinical, and therapeutic expertise in rare diseases.
  • Represent the company at continuing medical education events, medical meetings, and scientific conferences.
  • Collaborate with clinical development teams to identify suitable sites for clinical trials and disease concepts that support product differentiation.
  • Position Ipsen as a preferred scientific partner via innovative strategies and effective scientific communication.
  • Provide scientific, clinical, and educational support to internal cross-functional teams including the Medical Science Liaison team.
  • Contribute to medical publications such as abstracts and manuscripts as needed.
  • Assist commercial teams by participating in Speaker and Representative training sessions.
  • Lead or participate in special project groups as required.
  • Support cross-functional operations focused on patient-centric approaches, promptly addressing requests from both internal and external stakeholders for medical affairs assistance.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Advanced scientific or medical degree such as PharmD, PhD, or MD.
  • Background in medical or paramedical practice or research in hospital, university, or pharmaceutical industry settings.
  • At least 2 years of experience as an MSL or in a medical affairs-related role with demonstrated success.
  • Proven skills in delivering scientific presentations and building relationships with national and international thought leaders.
  • Experience in rare diseases and liver-related therapies is preferred.
  • Strong ability to clearly synthesize and communicate complex medical information.
  • Knowledge of data analysis, statistics, and compliance with legal and regulatory guidelines.
  • Team-oriented with a solution-focused mindset and strong communication abilities.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 60-80% depending on the regional coverage.
  • Fluent in both German and English languages.
