About Definium Therapeutics

Definium Therapeutics is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on pioneering innovative psychiatric treatments through rigorous scientific approaches to psychedelics. Our lead candidate, an orally disintegrating formulation of lysergide tartrate, targets conditions such as generalized anxiety, major depressive disorder, and PTSD. We are also developing DT402, an R-enantiomer of MDMA aimed at treating core social communication challenges in autism spectrum disorder. Our mission is to transform mental health care by developing therapeutics that address underlying causes of psychiatric and neurological disorders.

Role Overview

We are recruiting a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to act as a scientific and clinical liaison supporting our psychiatry portfolio in the Western United States. This position involves building and maintaining robust relationships with key opinion leaders, healthcare professionals, and policy influencers. The MSL will communicate scientific data, gather clinical insights, and ensure alignment between research efforts and clinical practice requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and nurture relationships with KOLs, clinical investigators, and key regional stakeholders in psychiatry.
  • Provide accurate and compliant scientific information to support effective scientific exchanges.
  • Offer scientific education at psychiatry conferences, advisory boards, and educational forums.
  • Collect and relay field insights to internal teams to inform strategic decisions.
  • Implement and maintain best practices for insight documentation and KOL engagement.
  • Respond accurately to unsolicited medical inquiries from healthcare professionals in line with company policies.
  • Monitor competitor activities and new clinical data for relevant insights.
  • Support clinical trial activities including site identification and enrollment as needed.
  • Assist investigator-initiated trials and Phase IV studies when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with Government Affairs and HEOR teams to provide clinical expertise supporting policy and stakeholder communication.
  • Represent Definium Therapeutics at mental health or policy-related regional events as requested.
  • Ensure all interactions comply with applicable company policies, regulatory standards, and ethical guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Advanced scientific degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, DNP or equivalent) is strongly preferred.
  • Between 2 and 5 years of experience in MSL or related medical affairs roles, preferably in psychiatry or CNS domains.
  • Thorough knowledge of psychiatric disorders and treatment frameworks.
  • Proven ability to conduct scientific dialogue with healthcare providers.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Competency in interpreting and conveying complex scientific data succinctly.
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms, insight collection tools, and compliance in field operations.
  • Ability to collaborate in a dynamic, fast-scaling biotech setting involving cross-functional teamwork.
  • Willingness to undertake travel up to 60% of the time as necessary.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual starting salary range for this position is $175,000 to $230,000, contingent on qualifications, experience, and location. Additional performance bonuses and equity incentives may apply.

Definium Therapeutics offers comprehensive benefits including:

  • Full health coverage (medical, dental, vision) for employees and their dependents with 100% company-paid premiums.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with employer match and immediate vesting from the first month of employment.
  • Flexible paid time off policies.
  • Generous parental leave programs.
  • Additional employee benefits and occasional fun perks.
