Role Overview

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) will act as a field-based expert in the scientific and clinical aspects of our psychiatry portfolio. This role involves cultivating and sustaining strong professional relationships with Key Opinion Leaders, healthcare practitioners, policy makers, and various stakeholders. The MSL will promote scientific communication, collect clinical insights from the field, and facilitate alignment between research activities and practical medical requirements.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strategic relationships with KOLs, clinical researchers, and key opinion leaders in academic and clinical psychiatry settings.
• Provide scientifically accurate, balanced, and compliant information to support high-quality scientific exchanges.
• Represent the company’s scientific interests at national and regional psychiatry conferences, advisory meetings, and educational forums.
• Gather and relay clinical and field insights to internal teams to inform strategic decisions.
• Ensure best practices for capturing field insights, documenting interactions, and managing KOL engagements.
• Respond to unsolicited medical information requests from healthcare providers in line with company policies.
• Monitor competitor activities and emerging clinical data relevant to our focus areas.
• Assist clinical trial teams with site identification and patient enrollment efforts.
• Support investigator-initiated trials and Phase IV research initiatives as needed.
• Collaborate with Government Affairs and HEOR teams to offer scientific expertise for policy engagement and stakeholder communication.
• Represent the company at regional mental health and policy events when requested.
• Conduct all interactions in full compliance with company policies, regulatory frameworks, and ethical standards.

Qualifications and Experience

• Advanced scientific degree such as PharmD, PhD, MD, DNP, or an equivalent qualification is strongly preferred.
• Between 2 to 5 years’ experience as a Medical Science Liaison or in related medical affairs roles, ideally with a focus on psychiatry or CNS disorders.
• Comprehensive knowledge of psychiatric conditions and available treatment modalities.
• Proven skills in engaging healthcare professionals in scientific discussions.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal capabilities.
• Ability to interpret complex scientific data and convey it clearly and succinctly.
• Familiarity with CRM platforms, insight gathering systems, and compliant field operations.
• Adaptability to work effectively in a dynamic, expanding biotech environment with interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Willingness to travel up to 60% for role requirements.

Compensation and Benefits

The base salary for this position ranges from $175,000 to $230,000 annually, dependent upon experience, skillset, and geographic location. Additional compensation components may include bonuses and equity awards.
