Job description
Role overview
GSK is scaling toward ambitious long-term commercial and patient-impact goals, supported by its Ahead Together strategy, which focuses on earlier intervention to prevent or slow disease and strengthen healthcare systems. The company’s portfolio spans vaccines, specialty medicines and general medicines, with ongoing investment in scientific excellence and innovation to deliver new treatments for major health challenges.
As a Medical Science Liaison, you will be based in Kuwait and will engage scientific stakeholders across Kuwait, Qatar, Oman and Bahrain. The role centers on building credible, trusted relationships with healthcare professionals and academic experts, sharing impartial and evidence-based scientific information, collecting insights from the field, and supporting medical strategy and research activities. You will also partner with Medical Affairs, Clinical Operations and other cross-functional teams to improve patient care and support local scientific priorities.
Key responsibilities
You will be responsible for maintaining strong scientific partnerships, facilitating high-quality medical discussions, and helping translate field insights into action.
- Develop and sustain trusted connections with healthcare professionals, academic leaders and other relevant stakeholders in your territory.
- Lead balanced, scientifically sound exchanges that help inform clinical decision-making and improve patient outcomes.
- Record, organize and escalate medical insights gathered from the field so they can guide strategy and evidence generation.
- Assist with identifying investigators and activating study sites, and provide scientific input for investigator-led studies.
- Organize your territory plan, set priorities, manage your schedule and complete interaction documentation in the required systems.
- Collaborate with Medical Affairs, Clinical Operations and commercial colleagues to provide responsive, customer-oriented medical support.
Required background and experience
- An advanced qualification in medicine, pharmacy, life sciences or a comparable field, such as MD, PharmD or PhD.
- At least 2 years of experience in a Medical Science Liaison role or another field medical role within pharma or clinical research.
- Hands-on exposure to the Gulf region, with familiarity with healthcare systems in Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman and Qatar.
- Strong English communication skills, both spoken and written; Arabic is considered an advantage.
- The ability to simplify complex science and communicate effectively with different audiences.
- Good understanding of clinical science, including interpretation of clinical data and basic statistical concepts.
- Experience with, or solid knowledge of, clinical research principles and clinical trial workflows.
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly across Kuwait and the wider region; the role is field-based and on-site for territory work, with hybrid flexibility for internal meetings.
Preferred qualifications
- Prior exposure to cardiology, endocrinology or nephrology.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and familiarity with CRM or medical information systems.
- Comfort operating in a matrix organization and collaborating across functions.
- Ability to convert field observations into local medical initiatives or evidence-generation plans.
Working model
This position is primarily field-based and on-site within the assigned territory across Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman and Qatar. Hybrid working is available for internal collaboration and office-oriented tasks. Frequent travel across the territory should be expected.

Success in this role also requires independence in the field, strong teamwork, direct communication, continuous learning, and a patient-first mindset. The organization values inclusion and welcomes applicants from a range of backgrounds and working styles.
How to apply
Interested candidates should submit a CV and a short cover letter. Applications should include details of therapeutic expertise, current location and any visa requirements.
