Role Overview
Join MedSleep's expanding healthcare team in Ottawa, ON as a full-time Medical Office Administrator. This position provides meaningful involvement in patient care within the specialized area of sleep science, offering an excellent opportunity to contribute directly to patient services while advancing your career.
Responsibilities
- Manage referral processing and patient appointment scheduling efficiently.
- Prepare and organize patient charts, maintain accurate filing systems, and manage EMR system updates.
- Answer phones and coordinate clinic schedules for physicians.
- Facilitate telemedicine clinics by supporting interactions between patients and physicians.
- Maintain accurate tracking of clinical metrics.
- Engage directly with patients, requiring comfort and professionalism in patient-facing scenarios.
- Maintain a weekly commitment of 37.5 hours to meet the demands of the role.
Requirements
- Preferably hold a Medical Office diploma or have completed a related educational program.
- Possess at least two years of administrative experience in a professional environment.
- Exhibit strong organizational capabilities and meticulous attention to detail.
- Demonstrate adaptability to learn and navigate evolving healthcare procedures.
- Display assertiveness and professionalism paired with excellent customer service skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication abilities.
- Effective time management skills combined with the capacity to work well under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
- Aptitude for multitasking, evaluating situations quickly, and prioritizing duties accordingly.
- Good listening skills with an openness to guidance and instructions.
Compensation and Benefits
- Hourly wage ranging from $18 to $20 on experience basis.
