Medical Insurance Collections Specialist (Remote)

Role Overview

As a Medical Insurance Collections Specialist at Aveanna Healthcare, you will be an integral part of the Revenue Cycle team, ensuring timely processing and settlement of invoices sent to payers. Your expertise in managing accounts, investigating denials, and resolving them with empathy and efficiency will directly contribute to providing compassionate care to medically fragile pediatric patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of payer accounts to ensure timely collections, aging, and denial processing.
• Handle a high volume of claims, processing at least five claims per hour.
• Maintain attention to detail to support billing accuracy, minimize denials, and keep pace with payer regulations.
• Utilize basic math and accounting skills for month-end reconciliations and interdepartmental support.
• Strive to achieve daily, monthly, and quarterly collection targets established by management.
• Adhere strictly to internal and external compliance and confidentiality standards.
• Maintain professionalism, efficiency, and composure in a fast-paced, high call volume setting.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience in Medical Insurance Collections, preferably within healthcare, medical office, or customer service environments.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Minimum educational requirement of a high school diploma or GED.
