Role Summary
The Medical Lead Australia will be responsible for delivering copy requirements for Australian clients while also helping shape the standards and best practices used for pharmaceutical clients across APAC. The role calls for a strong background in medical and scientific writing, especially within medico-marketing and marketing communications. Experience across pharmaceuticals, life sciences, medical devices, and healthcare is important, along with the ability to turn complex scientific information into clear, compelling content.
Key Responsibilities
Copy development, governance, and best-practice leadership are central to this role.
- Own the development of a broad mix of medical communication assets, such as scientific manuscripts, promotional materials, and educational pieces.
- Create content across print, digital, and audio-visual formats, including brochures, posters, newsletters, emails, social content, e-learning, videos, and animations.
- Adapt messaging for healthcare professionals, patients, and regulatory audiences while preserving scientific accuracy and compliance.
- Generate original copy for local launches or work within an established global strategy.
- Build content structures, storylines, and campaign-aligned materials that support business goals.
- Partner with clients and external stakeholders to produce communication materials that meet deadlines, budget, and brief requirements.
- Collaborate closely with account, studio, medical, design, coding, and project management teams to deliver integrated work.
- Manage several projects at once while keeping quality, timing, and scope under control.
- Review and refine work with colleagues to maintain strong standards and effectiveness.
- Apply regulatory and ethical guidance, including compliance with relevant industry requirements such as Medicines Australia.
- Maintain scientific accuracy and strong evidence-based rigour in all materials.
- Keep current with therapeutic and healthcare developments across areas including cardiovascular and metabolism, immunology, infectious diseases, neuroscience, oncology, and pulmonary hypertension.
- Oversee the approval pathway for content, including client and regulatory submissions.
- Use MLR approval processes and Veeva Vault PromoMats, which are required for the role.
- Work with senior leaders to create and standardise consistent workflows across APAC.
- Support the global hub team in strengthening Tag’s pharmaceutical offering and delivery model across APAC.
- Assess and introduce new formats and technologies that improve communication quality and audience engagement.
- Stay informed on market trends and emerging best practices to drive innovation in content delivery.
