Aleca Home Health is hiring an experienced Medical Billing Auditor to support its expanding operations. The role focuses on improving billing accuracy, preventing fraud, and making sure claims are submitted within required timelines.

Key duties

  • Review, process, and audit primary and secondary insurance verifications and re-verifications for Medicare, private, and managed care patients using paper-based or electronic methods according to payer rules
  • Handle pre-billing audits and keep daily client lists and audit records current in AR or related financial systems
  • Maintain accurate patient accounts, including monthly statements and collections activity
  • Investigate and resolve EOB denials, rejections, and other outstanding account issues
  • Record cash receipts and post adjustments when needed
  • Obtain and track initial as well as ongoing insurance authorizations
  • Review contracts to confirm payment terms and insurance requirements
  • Support the monthly triple-check process
  • Help maintain payer setup in the AR platform
  • Work with managers and team members to collect or confirm billing details
  • Communicate with patients and family members regarding account status and patient information

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience in healthcare billing and collections, including Medicare Part A and Part B, commercial insurance, Medicaid, and coinsurance
  • Prior home health billing experience is required
  • Strong computer proficiency, including familiarity with billing systems and Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Waystar and WellSky is preferred

This is a full-time remote position based out of Nashville, Tennessee.

Compensation

Pay is listed at USD 17.00 to USD 20.00 per hour.
