Job Summary

The position involves full-time work as a Medical Assistant specializing in Allergy at the King of Prussia Allergy Office. The role demands delivering top-quality medical, clinical, and clerical support in a healthcare setting. Previous relevant experience is mandatory.

Schedule

Full-time with a minimum of 30 hours weekly, Monday through Friday, including rotating Saturdays. Operational hours range from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM. Flexibility for team coverage is expected.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create a professional, welcoming atmosphere enhancing patient service quality and care alongside providers.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of clinical protocols specifically related to allergy practice.
  • Thoroughly understand allergy treatments and procedures, including pre- and post-care instructions for allergy tests and immunotherapy. Anticipate provider next steps in patient flow.
  • Adapt to and support provider workflows improving patient care quality and practice efficiency through tasks such as scribing, managing records, and facilitating patient communication.
  • Verify and maintain allergy testing equipment at shift start; upkeep cleanliness and stock of treatment rooms.
  • Manage inventory and supply stocking related to allergy procedures as needed.
  • Complete mandatory training and education focusing on allergy care timely.
  • Assist in performing allergy procedures including skin prick and patch tests, spirometry, and immunotherapy injections; prepare and clean exam rooms appropriately.
  • Support providers with documentation for treatments, medications, requisitions, biopsies, photos, prescriptions, consents, and prior authorizations within guidelines.
  • Process payments, schedule follow-ups, and track inventory usage during patient visits.
  • Learn and implement new workflows such as handling paperwork, patient notifications, and messaging.
  • Maintain office cleanliness and waste removal.
  • Fill in as front desk or greeter when necessary.
  • Ensure HIPAA and OSHA compliance in daily activities.
  • Perform other office and patient care tasks as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years’ experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably in an allergy setting.
  • Medical Assistant certification mandatory.
  • Current CPR and AED certifications required.
  • Familiarity with EMR software and patient scheduling systems is advantageous.
  • Experience with allergy testing methods such as skin prick, patch testing, and spirometry preferred.
  • Comfortable with computers and proficient in Microsoft Outlook.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Excellent patient service and relationship management.
  • Demonstrated accountability and follow-up capabilities.
  • Dependable, professional, and dedicated work ethic.
  • Open availability during office hours and scheduled shifts.
  • Knowledgeable of HIPAA and OSHA regulations.
