Overview
Aneurin Bevan University Health Board seeks an experienced Human Resources expert to join their Workforce and Organisational Development team as a Medical & Dental Senior Workforce Manager. This fixed-term role plays a critical role in shaping and managing the Medical and Dental workforce, overseeing strategic initiatives, and ensuring compliance with national healthcare workforce standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee specialist Medical and Dental workforce services within the Health Board.
- Provide expert guidance on Medical and Dental employment terms, job planning, workforce policies, and complex pay issues.
- Ensure adherence to national contractual obligations, including the Resident Doctor Contract implementation.
- Lead the application of national workforce agreements and policy changes.
- Build and maintain robust collaborations with senior clinical leaders, operational managers, trade unions, and NHS Wales colleagues.
- Drive workforce improvement initiatives using data insights to enhance efficiency and support service transformation.
- Manage and develop a highly efficient team fostering continuous improvement and innovation.
- Contribute to delivering the Health Board’s Workforce Strategy objectives.
Experience and Qualifications
- In-depth knowledge of Medical & Dental service employment terms and conditions.
- Proven experience working with local and regional unions on industrial relations at a senior level.
- Skilled at providing strategic workforce advice to senior management.
- Desirable experience includes employment within the NHS or other public sector organizations.
- Advanced professional HR or management qualification (Master’s level) or equivalent extensive professional experience in senior HR roles with demonstrable delivery outcomes.
- Familiarity with a broad range of NHS, Organisational Development, Workforce, and HR issues.
- Membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) is a plus.
Additional Information
The position is a fixed-term contract or secondment until 30 June 2027, with secondment applicants encouraged to seek approval from their current line manager prior to applying.
