Role Overview
This part-time internship is based in Liberty Village, Toronto, and runs for 4 months from September to December 2026. It is a paid role at $17.75 per hour. The schedule requires at least 4 in-office days each week, with standard hours from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, for up to 37.5 hours weekly. The Media Engagement team builds and maintains relationships with media outlets and supports artists in telling their stories across a range of platforms. The intern will observe and support daily team activities on a short-term basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and circulate daily media coverage summaries that capture major stories, tone, and possible follow-up opportunities.
- Track, clip, and condense press coverage and media mentions connected to Sony Music artists, campaigns, and wider industry developments.
- Publish press releases and media materials on the company website and other relevant platforms, making sure updates go live accurately and on time.
- Look into emerging Canadian media prospects, including newer outlets, digital channels, and content creators.
- Maintain internal records and shared documents, such as earned media logs, media blurbs, and the company’s media contact database.
- Provide quick support when materials are requested, including photos, biographies, press releases, and related assets.
- Support the Media Relations team with special projects, event-related help, and general administrative work.
Candidate Profile
- Currently studying or already completed a post-secondary program in Public Relations, Communications, or Music Business.
- Strong eye for detail and accuracy.
- Professional, eager, and open to learning.
- Good understanding of Canadian media outlets and basic public relations practices.
- Solid writing skills and experience communicating with both internal teams and outside contacts.
- Genuine interest in music.
- French language ability is a plus, though not mandatory.
