Job description
About the Company
Sony Music Entertainment Canada Inc. works at the heart of music, entertainment, and technology. With a history that includes milestone innovations in recording and label development, the company now operates in over 60 countries and supports a wide range of established global artists, independent talent, and creative professionals. Its work is guided by a commitment to artistic integrity, transparency, entrepreneurship, and the creation of new opportunities for artists and audiences.
Role Overview
The Artist Growth & Fan Evolution team focuses on strengthening artists’ digital presence and deepening audience engagement. This internship offers hands-on exposure to the team’s daily work and is suited to someone eager to support fan growth, online engagement, and campaign execution over a short-term placement.
Work Location and Schedule
This position is based in Liberty Village, Toronto. It is a paid full-time internship lasting 4 months, from September to December 2026. The role follows an in-office arrangement for at least four days each week, with working hours from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and up to 37.5 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
The intern will support both the Artist Growth & Fan Evolution and Artist Marketing teams in building tailored approaches for priority artists, releases, and campaigns. The role also includes tracking current trends, pop culture moments, artist activity, and relevant developments across music and lifestyle platforms to spot timely promotional opportunities.
Other responsibilities include researching influencers, supporting communication efforts, and proposing ideas that expand artist reach. The intern will help write copy, create visually appealing social posts, moderate content, and manage platform activity to sustain a positive online presence. The role also involves helping with internal reporting, collaborating with the insights team to review data, improve campaign execution, and strengthen marketing strategy. In addition, the intern will help plan and deliver contests and fan engagement activities, including design work, legal coordination, communication, and prize or reward fulfilment.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate has completed or is currently enrolled in a post-secondary or training program related to music, entertainment, digital media, or marketing. They should bring familiarity with the influencer or talent management space, strong comfort with social media, and awareness of current digital and cultural trends.
Applicants should also have experience using design tools such as Canva for social content, reporting, recaps, and presentations, along with strong writing skills for online audiences. An interest in data trends, a strong connection to music, and enthusiasm, energy, and self-motivation are important for success in this role.
Preferred Experience and Tools
Additional advantages include creating social content independently, familiarity with content management systems, Tableau or Tabular, and regular use of music streaming platforms such as Spotify or Apple Music.
What the Internship Offers
This role provides access to a dynamic global community, a modern office setting, and opportunities to grow professionally. The position is intended to help the intern build experience, contribute to positive change, and support social impact, diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.

Candidates with disabilities who need reasonable accommodation during the application or hiring process may contact the People Experience team. Requests will be reviewed individually and responded to as quickly as possible.
