Role Overview
This 12-month fixed-term role oversees ASOS's flexible fulfilment, payments, and co-branded credit card operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory mandates, card schemes, and partnering bodies. The position emphasizes robust financial crime risk controls, appointed representative oversight, and establishing a scalable compliance framework within the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead compliance within flexible fulfilment, aligning with card scheme regulations, payment service provider and acquirer prerequisites, and relevant laws.
- Design and upkeep the Flexible Fulfilment Compliance Framework, identifying and mitigating risks related to fraud, money laundering, bribery, or corruption, ensuring audit readiness.
- Set and apply risk appetite, customer assessments, and onboarding protocols including Know Your Business Partner, Customer Due Diligence, and Enhanced Due Diligence for partners and sellers.
- Manage the Flexible Fulfilment Compliance Risk Register, tracking risk mitigation progress thoroughly.
- Act as the second line of defense by overseeing and challenging first line controls across fulfilment and payments.
- Develop, maintain, and promote policies, standards, and procedures related to fulfilment and payments, including delivering education on compliance topics.
- Conduct regulatory monitoring and impact assessments, staying abreast of FCA guidelines and card scheme updates to prepare the enterprise proactively.
- Supervise the Appointed Representative framework for the co-branded credit card, ensuring adherence to regulatory and contractual obligations and governance norms.
- Continuously monitor AR activities like financial promotions and customer disclosures to remain within regulatory boundaries.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Legal, Payments, Marketing, Technology, Finance, and Customer Care to integrate compliance in business decisions.
- Support engagements with regulators and law enforcement investigations as needed.
- Champion Diversity, Equity & Inclusion initiatives throughout the organization.
Work Environment
ASOS encourages on-site collaboration at their London office, recommending a minimum of three days per week in person to accelerate decision-making, foster culture, and support team growth.
Qualifications and Experience
- Preferred but not mandatory: Compliance certifications such as ICA.
- Proven background in financial crime compliance within a regulated environment.
- Experience specifically in flexible fulfilment compliance management.
- Familiarity with payment service providers and acquirer engagement.
- Skilled in identifying risks and implementing effective mitigating controls.
- Understanding of marketplace card scheme rules.
- Detail-oriented with strong contract review capabilities.
- Proven ability to create and carry out compliance monitoring frameworks.
- Experience as a Subject Matter Expert for payments compliance matters.
