Marketing Intern - Public Relations

About the Role

We invite motivated individuals seeking a challenging and meaningful internship to join our Communications team at Scoot located in Singapore's East Region. This team is responsible for all external communications, including Public Relations, Media Relations, managing issues such as flight disruptions, crisis communication, and safeguarding the company’s reputation. Interns will engage with diverse internal and external stakeholders, participate in various cross-departmental projects, and develop comprehensive communication skills. There is also the opportunity to lead personal campaigns and sharpen project management capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist project leads on cross-functional initiatives to broaden communication skills; these projects may be local, regional, or linked to CSR and ESG efforts.
• Have the chance to initiate and oversee your own campaigns to develop project management expertise.
• Support the Communications team with tasks that include research, content creation and editing, event coordination, stakeholder engagement, and administrative duties.
• Engage with media personnel to facilitate interview requests and distribute company statements.
• Monitor media outlets for coverage of the company and flag significant issues when detected.
• Create and update corporate communication materials such as press releases, Q&As, factsheets, briefing notes, and speeches.
• Lead or assist with routine management reporting and carry out any ad hoc projects as requested.

Candidate Requirements

• A good command of English and preferably proficiency in at least one additional language.
• Strong oral and written communication abilities.
• Effective interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively with others.
• Self-motivated with a responsible and proactive attitude; able to work independently.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Sound situational judgement and critical thinking capabilities.
• Ability to manage multiple competing priorities under tight deadlines within a fast-paced and evolving workplace culture.
