Job description
Role overview
This is a senior leadership opportunity for a marketing professional who can shape and scale the brand, communications, and growth strategy of an emerging dual-use technology company operating across defense, intelligence, and advanced sensing. The role is based in Germany and is arranged remotely. It offers broad ownership, high creative freedom, and the chance to help define how a category-leading defense technology brand is perceived internationally.
You will partner closely with the founders and technical experts to turn sophisticated capabilities into clear, persuasive messaging for military buyers, investors, and industry collaborators. The position combines long-term strategic planning with direct execution, including campaign leadership, partner management, and performance tracking.
Accountabilities
- Build and run a global marketing and brand plan for both defense and civilian audiences, with clear differentiation in a complex market.
- Create positioning and messaging frameworks that support long-term growth and a strong strategic narrative.
- Own public relations and media outreach, developing relationships with journalists, analysts, and key voices in the industry to generate meaningful coverage.
- Plan and deliver multi-channel campaigns across digital, social, and industry-specific platforms to increase awareness and demand.
- Shape content strategy for the company and founder-led channels, keeping output consistent, high quality, and engaging.
- Organize participation in international defense and aerospace trade events, including logistics, suppliers, and brand presentation.
- Handle marketing budgets, outside agencies, and contractors, while monitoring results and improving spend efficiency.
Candidate profile
The ideal candidate brings leadership experience in marketing, with ownership of both strategy and execution from start to finish. A history of delivering standout campaigns with strong reach and engagement is important, along with hands-on experience across PR, paid and organic social, advertising, and event marketing in fast-moving environments.
Success in this role also depends on strong coordination skills, independence, and the ability to lead external partners and cross-functional teams. You should be an excellent communicator and storyteller who can simplify technical or industrial subject matter into compelling market-facing narratives. Experience in defense, aerospace, dual-use technology, or similar regulated and technical sectors is a plus. A background in startups or other high-growth settings is highly valued.
Benefits and work style
- Equity or company share participation as part of the early leadership team.
- Fully remote setup with flexibility across Europe, plus optional hybrid working.
- Flexible hours centered on outcomes rather than fixed schedules.
- Strong creative ownership to build and shape the marketing function from the ground up.
- Opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven business with real-world impact in advanced defense and intelligence systems.
- Exposure to international markets, senior stakeholders, and global industry events.
- Direct influence on the positioning and growth of an emerging technology leader.
Application and hiring process

A separate matching process may be used to identify candidates who best fit the role’s core requirements, and shortlisted profiles may be passed to the hiring company for further review. Final decisions and interviews are handled by the employer’s internal team.
