Overview

This contract opportunity is for a remote managing editor focused on digital content. The work centers on reviewing and improving AI-produced writing so that it reads clearly, stays accurate, and follows established style standards. The assignment also involves helping shape training resources and feedback loops that support better narrative quality in AI systems.

Core Work

  • Review AI-generated drafts and refine them for clarity, correctness, tone, and style consistency.
  • Create and update training materials and datasets that strengthen narrative flow and language quality for AI models.
  • Work alongside data scientists and machine learning engineers by sharing practical feedback that supports iterative model improvement.
  • Spot recurring issues in AI output and analyze them to help reduce mistakes and improve overall performance.
  • Research current writing trends and editorial best practices to guide AI training approaches.
  • Present observations and recommendations clearly to both technical teams and non-technical partners.

Requirements

  • Background as a writer, author, editor, or in a similar role, with a solid portfolio of published work.
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills, plus a high level of precision and awareness of nuance.
  • Comfort working with AI, machine learning, or digital content creation tools.
  • Ability to review, improve, and polish both long-form and short-form content.
  • Strong planning, analysis, and time-management skills suited to a remote setup.

Work Details

This is a part-time contract role with a workload of 10 to 40 hours per week. The position is remote and based in the United States. Compensation is set at $49 to $61 per hour.
