Job description
Role overview
This opportunity is for a Manager/Director of FP&A in the United States, working with a partner company that handles the application process and subsequent hiring steps. The position is central to financial strategy within a fast-growing, venture-backed technology business, where careful analysis and data-led decisions are critical to scaling successfully.
You will serve as a trusted finance partner to senior leaders, turning complex models and business performance patterns into practical recommendations. The role blends strategic planning, operational finance, and cross-functional partnership to support growth, efficiency, and investment choices. You will own key planning activities such as budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial modeling across revenue, headcount, and operating costs. The job also includes preparing reporting for executives and the board that helps shape strategic direction. Because this is a highly visible position, it calls for strong analytical thinking, sound business judgment, and the ability to perform well in an entrepreneurial, fast-moving environment.
Key accountabilities
- Take the lead on annual, quarterly, and multi-year planning and forecasting cycles.
- Create and maintain detailed financial models for revenue, staffing, operating expenses, and vendor spending.
- Prepare executive- and board-ready reports, including KPI dashboards and performance summaries.
- Study financial and operational results to surface risks, opportunities, and the main factors driving performance.
- Work with business leaders to oversee budgets, control spending, and inform investment decisions.
- Contribute financial analysis and scenario planning to capital-raising efforts.
- Develop repeatable FP&A processes, tools, and reporting systems that improve speed, accuracy, and scalability.
- Own or support upgrades and rollouts of financial systems and related implementations.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, investment banking, consulting, accounting, or a similar field.
- A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline; an MBA or other advanced degree is preferred.
- Deep experience in financial modeling, forecasting, and scenario analysis.
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills for senior-level presentations and reporting.
- Background in high-growth companies, especially venture-backed or private equity-backed environments, is strongly preferred.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial information to senior stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical strength, and problem-solving ability.
- Comfort working independently while collaborating across multiple functions.
- Ability to adapt and stay effective in a fast-paced, changing, entrepreneurial setting.
