Job description
Role Overview
The Manager, Sports Events leads the creation and delivery of national sports properties, large-scale events, and key event programs across the region. The role is focused on building distinctive experiences that strengthen the brand and create meaningful impact. Acting as a project lead, you will coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure major regional sports initiatives are executed effectively from concept through completion and review.
Event Leadership and Execution
- Direct the planning, production, and successful delivery of regional sports events with a strong focus on quality.
- Own financial responsibility for assigned event budgets and manage spending in line with project goals.
- Evaluate potential event locations based on local market needs and expected return on investment.
- Build detailed project plans, guide execution, and keep the project team aligned throughout the lifecycle of the event.
- Handle all stages of event preparation and on-site execution.
- Serve as the main point of contact between the company and local authorities to obtain required approvals and permissions.
- Ensure timely communication and coordination among team members and partners.
- Work with legal teams to develop contracts, run bid processes, compare proposals, and negotiate favorable pricing with vendors and suppliers.
- Source and manage event production partners and supervise logistics for all events.
- Coordinate with media agencies on above-the-line strategy and delivery.
- Partner with the regional communications team to improve media results for major projects.
- Collaborate with regional leadership and the Santa Monica team to shape sports marketing strategy for the region.
- Work with risk management and legal teams to complete agreements with external parties according to company standards.
- Contribute fresh event concepts based on local market understanding and regional relevance.
Product Activation Support
- Partner with local brand marketing and sales teams to build activation plans that create strong local relevance.
- Manage the distribution of event materials and collateral for regional events.
Best Practice Sharing and Communication
- Take part in brand marketing workshops and training sessions to exchange insights and align on strategy.
- Share effective practices across the regional marketing and sports teams.
- Help drive return on investment with the regional communications team by supporting external content distribution across relevant channels such as viral, print, and video.

The base salary for this position is $98,440 to $147,660, plus cash incentives. Actual offers may differ depending on prior work experience, and the base pay range may change over time.
