Job description

Role Overview

The Manager, Recruitment is charged with creating, advancing, and implementing talent attraction and acquisition initiatives tailored for specialist groups such as Child Safety Officers. This position plays a key role in strategic workforce planning and talent acquisition within the Department by leading recruitment services and offering strategic guidance. Collaboration with internal and external partners is essential to attract talent, develop organisational capabilities, and enhance the employer brand.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Oversee recruitment and induction processes to effectively onboard candidates while enhancing team performance through coaching and leadership.
  • Supervise the ongoing operation and growth of the Student Placement Program and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Staff and Student Career Program, providing continuous counsel to executives, regional teams, universities, candidates, and students.
  • Manage activities related to the employee value proposition to position the Department as a preferred employer.
  • Handle end-to-end recruitment for specialist groups, including job postings, qualification verifications, phone screenings, database management, and coordinating interviews.
  • Foster strong collaborative relationships with key stakeholders internally and externally to support recruitment goals.
  • Drive the implementation of innovative talent sourcing and recruitment processes to attract qualified professionals from local and national markets.
  • Utilize strategic sourcing methods, networking, social media channels, talent pipelines, and existing databases to secure top-quality candidates.
  • Maintain exemplary standards of candidate care throughout sourcing and onboarding.
  • Apply appropriate project management methodologies, including risk management and benefits tracking, to ensure successful project completion aligned with plans and objectives.
  • Represent the Department at career fairs, recruitment events, and industry forums to source talent, nurture strategic alliances, and strengthen the employer brand.
