Job description

Role overview

Amazon is seeking an experienced Real Estate Manager to support property acquisition efforts across its India network. The position is based in Gurugram and involves regular travel. The role reports to the Senior Manager, Real Estate.

You will help the India team expand the Dark Store network for Amazon’s Quick Commerce initiative. The role covers end-to-end responsibility for the real estate program that is essential to launching and scaling this business. Work will include defining site requirements with local leadership, handling lease discussions on both commercial and legal points, conducting site visits, comparing lease economics, and coordinating project execution to achieve the final outcome.

The core objective is to secure suitable, cost-efficient storage and operational space for Amazon while working under demanding timelines and budget constraints in a challenging market.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the India team in delivering the broader strategy for Amazon India’s warehouse and storage space needs.
  • Build and manage a network of brokers and consultants to execute building requirements across multiple formats.
  • Develop a strong working knowledge of real estate regulatory requirements in the assigned region.
  • Keep regular communication flowing with business stakeholders, including local and central finance teams, IT, legal, operations, facilities, and engineering representatives.
  • Manage landlord relationships, negotiations, and contractors, and escalate issues when they move beyond routine day-to-day handling.
  • Handle alteration management and work to lower fixed building-related costs.

Required background

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required, or at least 2 years of experience with Amazon.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience using Microsoft Office products and applications.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, nights, and holidays.
  • Demonstrated success in leading and developing teams in a fast-moving, high-growth environment.
  • Proven history of managing multi-city or regional real estate programs with major capital and operational impact.

Preferred experience

  • Background in project management.
  • Experience supporting material handling equipment and integrated systems.
  • Well-established relationships with landlords, brokers, and consultants across Indian markets.
  • Experience managing senior stakeholders and presenting to executive leadership.
