This is a high-visibility commercial role focused on managing and expanding major national retail relationships in the consumer packaged goods sector, especially large grocery and mass-market retailers. The position owns account performance from end to end, covering sales, distribution, forecasting, and trade execution while keeping internal teams and retail buyers aligned. You will serve as the primary daily contact for key retail accounts, turning category strategy into practical plans that support revenue growth and wider shelf presence. Success in this role depends on strong commercial judgment, analytical depth, and fluency with retailer systems and data tools. The role also involves close collaboration with marketing, finance, supply chain, and analytics teams in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial setting.
Accountabilities
- Take full ownership of major national retail accounts and deliver against sales goals, distribution targets, pricing plans, promotional activity, and the overall health of each account across leading retail partners.
- Run forecasting, demand planning, and trade spend processes, including monthly planning reviews, sales pacing, and coordination with internal financial objectives and P&L considerations.
- Improve retail execution by overseeing item setup, replenishment workflows, Retail Link usage, and customer-specific systems to maintain accuracy and operational efficiency.
- Study sales results, category movement, and competitor activity using syndicated and retailer data to uncover growth opportunities and reduce risk.
- Work across marketing, analytics, supply chain, and finance teams to carry out retail strategies and strengthen overall business performance.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in consumer packaged goods, including 3 or more years managing Walmart or other large national retail accounts.
- Solid understanding of retail operations, trade management, forecasting, and sales planning in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- Practical experience using retail platforms and data sources such as Walmart Retail Link, SPINS, Nielsen, or Numerator.
- Demonstrated ability to develop trusted relationships with buyers and internal partners while driving execution and accountability across multiple teams.
- Strong analytical, data-oriented mindset with the ability to turn insights into concrete business recommendations.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to perform well in an entrepreneurial setting.
Benefits
- Competitive base pay plus an annual bonus tied to performance.
- Full health coverage, including medical, dental, and vision benefits.
- 401(k) retirement plan with employer matching.
- Unlimited paid time off and generous company holidays.
- Flexible remote work setup.
- Home office and wellness stipends to support comfort and productivity.
- Paid parental leave and family support offerings.
- Professional development funding and growth opportunities within a fast-growing consumer brand.
